Privacy Policy
Last updated: July 28, 2026
This Privacy Policy describes how Banker’s Hill Law Firm, A.P.C. (“the Firm,” “we,” “us”), located at 160 Thorn St, San Diego, CA 92103, collects, uses, and shares information when you visit https://bhlflaw.com (the “Site”) or contact us by form, phone, text, or chat.
Using this Site, submitting a form, or chatting with us does not create an attorney–client relationship. Please do not send confidential case details until we have confirmed our engagement in writing. Information you submit as a prospective client is nonetheless treated confidentially in accordance with our professional obligations.
Information We Collect
Information you provide
- Contact and case inquiry forms: name, email address, phone number, and any case details you choose to include.
- Phone calls and text messages: your phone number, call time and duration, and — where you have been notified at the start of the call — a recording of the call for quality and intake purposes.
- Website chat: the contents of your chat conversation and any contact details you provide in it.
Information collected automatically
When you browse the Site we and our service providers automatically collect usage data such as your IP address, browser and device type, the pages you visit, the time and duration of your visit, referring website, and identifiers stored in cookies or your browser’s local storage.
Tracking Technologies We Use
We believe in telling you exactly which tools run on this Site and why:
- Google Analytics 4 and Google Tag Manager (Google LLC) — website analytics: pages visited, traffic sources, and engagement. We have enabled Google’s data-redaction features so that email addresses and similar personal details are filtered from analytics collection.
- Meta Pixel (Meta Platforms, Inc.) — measures the effectiveness of our advertising on Facebook and Instagram.
- CallRail (CallRail, Inc.) — call tracking. CallRail may display a different phone number to you depending on how you reached the Site (so we know which advertising works), stores an identifier in your browser, and processes call metadata and — with the notice played at the start of a call — call recordings.
- Intaker — the chat widget on our Site. Chat conversations are processed and stored by Intaker and shared with our intake team.
- Lead Docket and Zapier — when you submit an inquiry form, your submission is transmitted to our case-intake system (Lead Docket) or workflow service (Zapier) so our team can respond. A copy is also retained in the Site’s database.
- WP Engine — our website hosting provider, which processes standard server logs.
How We Use Information
- To respond to your inquiry and evaluate whether we can assist with your legal matter;
- To operate, secure, and improve the Site;
- To understand which marketing channels bring visitors to us and measure advertising performance;
- To comply with legal and professional obligations.
How We Share Information
We do not sell your personal information. We share personal information only with:
- The service providers named above, who process it on our behalf to provide analytics, advertising measurement, call tracking, chat, intake, and hosting services;
- Our advertising and analytics partners (Google and Meta) as described in the Tracking Technologies section, for measurement of our own advertising;
- Courts, regulators, or law enforcement where required by law; and
- A successor entity in the event of a merger, acquisition, or sale of the Firm’s assets, with notice to you.
Your Choices
- Cookies: you can decline non-essential cookies through our cookie preferences banner (where shown), and block or delete cookies in your browser settings at any time.
- Google Analytics: you can opt out with the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.
- Meta: you can control how Meta uses data about you at Facebook Ad Preferences.
- Call recording: if you do not wish to be recorded, tell us at the start of a call and we will continue without recording, or contact us by email instead.
- Chat: if you prefer not to use the chat widget, every page of the Site offers phone and form alternatives.
Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control
Where our cookie preferences banner is active, opting out through it disables non-essential cookies for your browser. Beyond that, the Site does not currently respond to browser “Do Not Track” signals, for which no industry standard has been adopted. We do not sell personal information, so no “Do Not Sell” opt-out is required for this Site.
California Residents
We provide this policy in accordance with the California Online Privacy Protection Act (CalOPPA). Based on the Firm’s size and data practices, the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA/CPRA) thresholds do not currently apply to the Firm. Regardless, we voluntarily honor reasonable requests from any visitor to access, correct, or delete the personal information we hold about them. Email info@bhlflaw.com with your request; we will respond within 30 days. Note that we may be required by law or by our professional responsibilities to retain certain records.
Data Retention
Analytics data is retained for 14 months. Form submissions, call records, and chat transcripts are retained as long as needed to evaluate and respond to your inquiry and to satisfy our legal and professional record-keeping obligations, after which they are deleted in the ordinary course.
Security
We use commercially reasonable safeguards to protect your information, including encrypted transmission (HTTPS) across the entire Site. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Children’s Privacy
The Site is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Changes take effect when posted on this page, and the “Last updated” date above will reflect the latest revision.
